For 40 years, Hope Ignites Northeastern Ohio has believed that every young person deserves the opportunity to build a choice-filled future. That commitment does not end at high school graduation. Through the College & Career Success (CCS) Program, we continue walking alongside Scholars during some of the most important transitions of their lives: pursuing higher education, exploring career pathways, developing independence, and launching into meaningful professions.
Though the program itself is relatively new, its impact has expanded rapidly. Today, the CCS Program supports over 70 Scholars across a wide range of journeys, ensuring they have the guidance, resources, and community needed to thrive.
Personalized Coaching That Lasts
At the heart of the program is relationship-based support.
Each post-secondary Scholar works directly with our College & Career Success Director or a trained Success Coach who provides individualized mentorship and case management throughout their educational and career journey. Through regular one-on-one check-ins, they help Scholars navigate academic challenges, personal well-being, financial barriers, career planning, and major life transitions.
For many Scholars, this consistent support system becomes a critical source of encouragement and stability during a season of life that can often feel overwhelming.
Supporting Every Pathway to Success
Recognizing that success looks different for every Scholar, we expanded our post-secondary support in 2019 to include both traditional college pathways and alternative career routes. This flexible approach allows Scholars to pursue the future that best aligns with their goals, passions, and talents.

Investing in Success
The College & Career Success Program also provides financial support through individualized “Success Funds” which Scholars accrue through engagement in programming. These funds can later be used toward educational costs and critical basic needs expenses during their post-secondary journey.
By addressing both financial and personal barriers, we help ensure Scholars are not only accepted into programs or careers, but positioned to persist and succeed.
HopeNet
As the program has grown, so have the opportunities available to Scholars.
Regular CCS sessions focus on practical life and career skills, including financial literacy, interview preparation, independent living, mental health and wellness, and professional development. These experiences equip Scholars with tools that extend far beyond the classroom.
One of the program’s most exciting areas of growth has been HopeNet, launched in 2022 as a professional networking initiative connecting Scholars with mission-driven professionals and corporate partners in various industries.
What began as quarterly networking events has quickly evolved into a dynamic series of opportunities designed to help Scholars build meaningful professional relationships, expand their networks, and gain confidence as they enter the workforce.
Through HopeNet, community members are not simply attending events — they are actively investing in the next generation of leaders.
EnvisionU
Another exciting aspect if the College & Career Success experience is EnvisionU, a weeklong immersive summer program for rising high school seniors coordinated through the Hope Ignites Network.
Hosted on rotating college campuses, EnvisionU gives Scholars an authentic look into college life while helping them explore their passions, purpose, and future pathways. Students stay in residence halls, participate in team-building and service activities, connect with college representatives, and strengthen skills such as communication, teamwork, and problem solving.
Most importantly, EnvisionU helps Scholars begin seeing themselves as future college students, professionals, and leaders.
While the College & Career Success Program may be one of the newest chapters in our 40-year story, its rapid growth reflects the organization’s continued commitment to evolving alongside the needs of its Scholars.
It stands as a powerful reminder that our support grows with each Scholar as they move confidently toward futures filled with possibility.
